Description: New York, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1936. First Edition, 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). 368pp. Blue cloth, gilt lettering. Book is sound, light wear and slight fading of spine. Laid-in are 3 letters addressed to the book's owner, Alexander William Armour with references to the book about Viscount Knebworth, son of Victor Bulwer-Lytton. Letters are from A.J. Armstrong of Baylor University, Charles Erdman of The Theological Seminary of Princeton, New Jersey, and one letter is unsigned from someone in Greenwich, Connecticut. Two of the three letters are handwritten, and the Erdman lettter is typed and signed and contains a personal note at the end. Contents of the letters are mix of business and personal, mostly of a personal nature. Owner's name and bookplate on front endpapers, another personal handwritten note tipped-in at front. Also laid-in is brochure for the Knebworth House, Herts, the home of Bulwer-Lytton, and the rear panel of the book's dust jacket. A very interesting association copy. Very Good/No Jacket.
