Description: Kawaski, Japan, Nippophone Co. 1940. Oblong 4to. Hardcover. Signed by Author(s). Record Album with three 78 rpm records by the Nippophone Co. Inner front cover: "In Triibute to the Memory of the late Hiroshi Saito". He was Ambassador to the U.S. and delegate to the League of Nations. The cover of the album has a photo of Saito and paper insert with an inscription SIGNED BY YONE NOGUCHI, who wrote the lyrics on Record 1: Ambassador Saito's Return, and an Ode to Captain Turner. Turner was captain of the Astoria which brought Saito's remains to Japan.Turner was made Admiral in 1943 and served in the Pacific He was held partially responsible for the disaster at Pearl Harbor. Album covered in patterned silk with silk ties. Record 2 is Welcome Astoria & Anchors Aweigh. Record 3: labeled Columbia is titled in Japanese. All in Fine Condition. The Album is in Very Good condition with some splits at the inner margins of the record holders. With a 16- page pamphlet, 1934; Japan's Interests Rights and Responsibilities in the Far East by Mr. Yosuke Matsuoka, Japan's Chief Delegate to the League of Nations. Very Good.
