Period black leather spine over marbled paper boards. Flat back. Gilt stamping to spine. 168 pp. Frontis leaf included in pagination. Frontispiece. 3 internal plates. 16mo. 5-1/2" x 3-1/2". Usual wear & scuffing to binding. Chipping at backstrip extremes. Slight lean. Age-toning & foxing to paper. Bookplate to front paste-down [appears 20th C]. Lacks ffep. Long pencil poi to frontis recto giving brief Byron biography. Still, a sound Very Good copy. "Vice-Admiral Byron was a British Royal Navy officer and explorer. He earned the nickname 'Foul-Weather Jack' in the press because of his frequent encounters with bad weather at sea. As a midshipman, he sailed in the squadron under George Anson on his voyage around the world, though Byron made it only to southern Chile, where his ship was wrecked.
