Description: Albany: , 1817. 1st Edition thus, i.e. by this publisher & 2nd US edition overll (American Imprints 40487; Austin 479). Period brown quater sheep with drab paper boards. 6 horizontal double-rules to spine. xii, [1 (blank)], 14 - 191, [3 (blank)] pp. 12mo. 6-3/4" x 4-3/8". Binding worn & soiled, with tender joints. Paper age-toned, with foxing & browning. Rear blank with horizontal tear across leaf. A Good copy. The author lists 137 recipes, to be used to counteract a plethora of ailments described herein, including 'Warbles', a disease caused by the gadfly [use recipe 71 for a cure]. A popular veterinary manual, first published in the UK in 1810. The UK edition readily found in the market, this US edition.. not so much.
