A VG card (slight age-toning to edges). "The National Ensign (with only 34 stars) floated from all public and private buildings and from the shipping in the harbor. National salutes were fired at morning, noon and night.. At that time Abraham Lincoln was 53 years old and had been President of the United States little more than a year. The War of Secession (Civil War) was on. Although San Francisco was far removed from the scene of action, 'Regulars' & 'Volunteers' were much in evidence and gave a military touch to the parade.".
