Per the 4th edition of The United States Catalog, this book was first issued with a "75¢" price. Red cloth binding with color pictorial paper onlay to front board, showing 'Little Black Sambo', within an oval, walking while carrying a green umbrella. Buff printed dust jacket, which duplicates binding pictorial, and has a '75¢' price to front flap. vi, 56, [2] pp. Last leaf blank. Frontis + 26 full-page color illustrations after the originals. 16mo. 5-3/4" x 4". A Nr Fine book in an Abt VG jacket, which has a tape repaired split to the left of the front panel, and a chip at the top of the spine panel [no lettering affected]. Barton, while incorrect in her note regarding dust jacket price, was correct when she stated, "scarce in dust jacket.".
