A couple of pages are loose, all appear to be present. Back hinge is cracked, binding is otherwise tight. Contents are excellent. Pages are clean, bright, and free of marks and foxing. Book includes several shorter articles, some by John Wesley Powell himself. The two longer, book-length, articles are "A Further Contribution to the Study of the Mortuary Customs of the North American Indians," by H. C. Yarrow; and "Sign Language Among North American Indians," by Col. Garrick Mallery. Both articles are profusely illustrated. 4to 11" - 13" tall. 603 pages. S5. Good.
