Two folding plates are in a pocket attached to back pastedown, as listed in Table of Contents: a facsmile reproduction of an 1837 Map of Indiana and a chart showing the evolution of Owen's classification scheme for stratified rocks of the Midwest. Both are in Fine condition. The author was the third son of Robert Owen, the Welsh reformer who established the utopian society New Harmony, Indiana, where David Dale also lived.
