Description: View on the Spui in the center of The Hague (Spui in Den Haag), the bridges over the canal in the foreground, a coach approaching from the left, boats in the middle distance. The great orphanage (het oude Weeshuis in het Spui) is visible on the right. In the left background, in the distance, the Nieuwe Kerk.In the same direction of the optica print by Adolf van der Laan, after Daniel Marot from ca. 1719. Titled in Dutch and French at bottom: 'IN KOMEN van den HAAG SIENDE van HET KINDER HUYS na de NIEUWE KERK. / VUE de L'ENTREE de la HA[Y]E REGARDANT de la MAISON DES PAUVRES VERS L'EGLISE NEUVE.' Handcolored etching with some engraving on paper, trimmed within plate mark; total: 310 x 405 mm; on thick paper; dirt and smudges; dirt on the verso, in fair condition.
