Rapport General. Tome I - Conception et organisation. [&] Tome 2 - Realisation du programme (Architecture, parcs et jardins. - Travaux d'ingenieurs). Paris, Imprimerie Nationale, 1938 [&] 1940. Two volumes. Tome I. 47 photo plates, 4 folding plans, xx,497pp. Tome 2. 181 photo plates and plans, 308pp. Two vols. 4to, publisher's card wrappers. Both volumes very good. The plates are high quality photogravures, and the text is well printed on excellent paper. ¶ There appear to have been 11 volumes planned in all, published out of sequence up to 1941, but complete sets seem to be rare, even in institutional libraries. These first two volumes in the series cover the planning, preparation and demolitions on the site, building and engineering works, pavilions and gardens. A worthy record of the architecture of a very stylish Exposition. Later volumes cover the exhibits in the national pavilions. Offered for AUD 750.00 = appr.
