The second in the series of notorious, enormously successful and often insulting satires on Queen Victoria, the Prince of Wales, the Court, the Ministers.... Eight 'Books' of rhyming narrative verse [in the manner of Pope's translation of the Iliad]...celebrate the preparations for the General Election of February 1874, which upset the Gladstone administration and made Disraeli for the second time Prime Minister See Sadleir 3478. A contemporary hand has added a key to some of the names.
