Top edges gilt. Half titles. Intaglio frontispiece plates with tissue guards (portrait, ships). Black and white photographs throughout both volumes, and 3 maps, two of which are folding, one at the end of each volume. Faint, unobtrusive foxing to the blank side of the folding map included with Volume I. Internally without blemish. Mild wear, as may be anticpated, to the covers; a miniscule tear starting at the head-cap of Volume I. Both volumes are, overall, impeccably clean, bright, solid, and square, particularly when age is considered. The accounts of the first explorer to transit the North West Passage.
