Description: Toronto, Hunter, Rose & Co.. 1894-1895, 1st edition. (hardcover) Very good, no dust jacket. 515, 420, 492pp. In 3 volumes. 8vo. Rebound in black cloth boards; lettering in gilt to spine. Although a contemporary rebind, internally the set is in superior condition. All monochrome plates present, with tissue guards. The only blemishes of any note belong to volume II: Earl of Dufferin frontispiece repaired on verso with (unfortunately) a small piece of tape; in staining at head of Marquis of Lorne frontispiece with a small scribble on the actual portrait; small 1 / 2" ink stain to final two leaves of volume. A quite presentable, complete set (in spite of the rebind. Each of the three volumes in this set has a lengthy appendix which contains historic charters, proclamations, laws, treaties, contracts and documents. Peel(3) 2184. Superior sets available.
