VERY GOOD) . ¶ A Keur Bible of 1702 in the States General version, the standard Bible of the Dutch Reformed Church from 1637 onwards. The Bibles printed by Keur were renowned for their accuracy of the text, their fine printing, and their high quality illustrations of copperplates and woodcut head- and tailpieces. All six maps are on plates drawn by STOOPENDAAL with fine cartouches: 1)world map in two hemispheres, 2) map of the Near East, where paradise was supposedly located, 3) map depicting the journey of the Israelites through the desert and the land of Israel, 4) plan of Jerusalem, 5) the land of Israel at the time of Jesus, and 6) the eastern Mediterranean, outlining the journeys of St. Paul. All six maps are in VERY FINE state with good margins.
