This volume is the first systematic overview of this part of the Budapest collection and contains the results of recent investigations: new attributions, names of sitters, and data concerning provenance. The text is in English and Hungarian. Rudi E.O. Ekkart, former director of the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie in The Hague, is the leading authority on seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish portraits. He is professor of art history at Utrecht University.
