Description: Cambridge, MA, Nutall Ornithological Club, 1923. 4to (28.0 x 22.5 cm). 141 pp.; four tinted phototype plates (tissue-guarded). Original green buckram with gilt title on the spine. = First edition, published as the Club's Memoirs, No. VI. Very uncommon, and rare outside North America. Written by the American herpetologist and ornithologist Thomas Barbour (1884-1946) who, from 1927 until 1946, was director of the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology. An annotated list of species, with historical, topographical, and distribution data. The plates show landscapes/habitats. A few markings of the John Sage Collection, Trinity College Library, viz. number on front board, cancelled bookplate and label on the front pastedown, label remnant on rear free endpaper verso, and library pocket on rear pastedown; otherwise a fine copy with a very fresh interior.
