Written by the German geologist Johannes Heinrich Wilhelm Ahlburg (1883-1919). Published as part of the Geologische und Palaeontologische Abhandlungen, published by Pompeckj and Von Heune. The first seven plates show photos made by the author of the landscape, people and dwellings, the last four contain one to three often large, folded geological maps. Stamp and cancellation stamp on the title page, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Not uncommon, but usually found in wrappers - a well-bound copy, such as this one, is seldom-seen.
