Near contemporary blind wrappers (text), and original quarter cloth over printed boards (atlas). = A rarely seen complete copy. Includes descriptions and fine illustrations of numerous new and poorly known but often well preserved Mesozoic (Triassic) bivalves and ammonites. The author, the German palaeontologist Carl Wilhelm Franz von Branca (1844-1928) published under the name Branco for a while. This is Abhandlungen zur geologischen Spezialkarte von Elsass-Lothringen, Band II, Heft I. The plates are double, since they were also included in the text volume (with much narrower margins). Uncut. Author's name and title written in an old hand on the front board; otherwise a very good, clean, unmarked copy.
