Spine with gilt title. = A very seldom-seen paper by the Philippine malacologist Leopoldo Alcaraz Faustino (1892-1935). The introduction enumerates many, mostly 19th-century papers containing descriptions of Philippine molluscs. The very long species list has references to these works. Provenance: Inscribed by the author in the top margin of the front wrapper to the Philippine malacologist Pedro de Mesa (1885-1966, and next to it the latter's dedication to the American malacologist William James "Bill" Clench (1897-1984); stamp of the American malacologist Richard Irwin Johnson (1925-2020) in the top margin of the front free endpaper recto, and on the front wrapper below Faustino's dedication. Several annotatons, partly in red and blue pencil. short tear in the fore edge of the first two leaves; lower outer corner of the front wrapper chipped, otherwise a very good copy.
