Original uniform printed wrappers. = The ANSP Proceedings were the foremost zoological journal in the U.S.A., being especially strong in Mollusca and ornithology. Authors in this early volume include, e.g., Coues (ornithology, including A Monograph of the Alcidae), Meehan (botany), Cope (herpetology including crocodiles, Amazonian reptiles, etc.), Isaac Lea (malacology, mainly Unionidae, Melaniidae). Especialy Cope and Lea contributed much. Uncut. Front wrapper no. 6 gone at right hand upper corner, edges some other wrappe a bit soiled, frayed and or/chipped, as usual with uncut copies. A good, complete volume. Rare.
