Authors in this early volume include, e.g., Coues (e.g. revision Procellariidae, parts III-V), Elliot, and Cassin; Meehan (botany), Cope (herpetology of tropical America, etc.), Leconte (Coleoptera), Isaac Lea (malacology, mainly Unionidae). Especialy Coues contributed much. Uncut. Wrapper edges a bit soiled, frayed and or/chipped, as usual with uncut copies. A very good, complete volume. Rare.
