Authors in this early volume include, e.g., Lawrence (new Central American birds), Elliot (a new owl), and Cassin; Meehan (botany), Cope (herpetology including turtles, reptiles of California, extinct Cetacea, etc.), Isaac Lea (malacology, mainly Unionidae), H. C. Wood (Myriapoda). Especialy Cope contributed much. Uncut. Wrapper edges a bit soiled, frayed and or/chipped, as usual with uncut copies. A good, complete volume. Rare.
