Edges speckled red. = One of the most important botanical periodicals - with numerous fine monographs - and certainly one of the best-illustrated too. Includes, for instance, The Cyperaceae of the West Coast of Africa by Ridley, The botany of the Roraima Expedition of 1884, by Oliver, and Enumeration of the plants collected on the Kilimanjaro Expedition, 1884, also by Oliver, and three papers on the botany of Australia, viz., Contribution to the Lichenographia of New South Wales by Charles Knight (3 plates), List of Fungi from Brisbane, Queensland; with descriptions of new species Part. II, by Berkeley and Broome (six plates), and idem, part III (one plate). All with fine illustrations and new species. Dated presentation label, from the publishers to the Society mounted on the front pastedown. . Boards a bit rubbed, otherwise excellent, clean. A very good copy. Cat. BM(NH), p. 1151.
