Contemporary half calf over mottled boards. Spine with four raised bands and paper label. All edges red. = First volume of a German natural history magazine, being one of the first periodical entirely dealing with natural history subjects. The large folded plate depicts a mycological subject. This series was completed in 26 volumes published up to 1762. Boards a bit worn, some worming in the lower gutter of the first few leaves; otherwise very good, clean. Cat BM(NH) p. 1414.
