Contemporary half calf over pebbled boards. = An important, early, well-illustrated flora of Afghanistan, containing many new or poorly known species. James Aitchison (1836-1898) was a British botanist who joined the Bengal Medical Service in 1858 and collected in India (1861-1872) and in Afghanistan (1879-1883). Spine cover perished, boards detached, serial title detached and chipped at edges; plates, text and maps clean, undamaged. Needs rebinding but otherwise a good to very copy. Not in Stafleu and Cowan.
