Original blind stamped burgundy cloth. Spine with gilt lines and title. = The very rare first edition. A second part - also rare - appeared in 1907. In 1939 they were followed by a second edition, which was expanded and updated but the first volume of the second edition has only three plates, instead of ten. Uncut, partly unopened. Inscribed by the author in the top margin of the title page. With author's inscription in the top margin of the title page. Binding weak, inner hinges starting. Library plate on front pastedown; two stamps on title, shallow blindstamp in the lower margin of the title, label and library number on the spine, otherwise a very good, clean copy.
