Spine with green morocco label with gilt title and ornamental borders. = The very rare German translation of the main work by the French geologist Amadée Burat (1809-1883) "Géologie appliquée; traité du gisement et de l'exploration des minéraux utiles". The German translation was published within one year of the French edition. most plates show different aspects of mining, and mining equipment. Boards a bit rubbed; old private owner's stamp on title, some scattered light spotting, otherwise a very good, clean copy. Ward and Carozzi 398 (1855 third French edition only). Not in Hoover.
