Plate volume 23 pp.; 60 beautiful plates (32 in full colour) of neotropical birds. Cloth with full colour pictorial dustjacket. Combined in original slipcase with printed label on the spine. = A fine reproduction of the utterly rare original 1835 edition titled "Oiseaux brillants et remarquables du Bresil", including its original French text. The descriptions are repeated in English in the Atlas volume. The publication of the original text, by Zemmer in London, was felt to be a necessary addition to the plates. Pictorial bookplate on the front free endpaper recto of the atlas, a few plates loose due to the lumback binding, otherwise good. Complete copies, especially with the original slipcase, are not very common.
