Original printed wrappers. = Originally this work formed a part of a series of Histoires naturelles published by Deterville as Suites de Buffon and written by the French zoologist, botanist, diplomat, and administrator Louis Augustin Guillaume Bosc (1759-1828). This edition, however, was published after his death and much edited by Desmarest, containing later observations as well as the six bis-plates that Nissen erroneously thought to be part of the original edition. 36 pp. Roret catalogue bound in the rear of the second volume. Edges frayed, covers soiled and spines all but perished. Some scattered spotting. Complete, but rather a working set. Nissen ZBI, 478.
