Benjamin Daydon Jackson (1846-1927) wrote the first volume of Index Kewensis a work that aimed to include all the flowering plants. A review of this book dated 3/6/76 tipped in on front flyleaf verso. Endpapers spotted. Hinges weak. Some pencilled annotations in the section with plant names and their meaning (in Latin or Greek), perhaps by Jackson. Overall a good copy with an interesting provenance.
