Original cloth with original flyleaves being a map of Mongolia. = A lively and entertaining narrative, mainly about the writer's explorations during the Gobi Expedition of 1928-1930 in Mongolia and China. Parts were previously published in, e.g. The Saterday Evening Post and Cosmopolian. The author, Roy Chapman Andrews (1884-1960), was director of the American Museum of Natural History in New York. If interested in snakes, then this book has a chapter worth reading. Without dust jacket, very slight wear to spine ends, but otherwise a mint copy. Rare outside the U.S.A., and rare in this excellent state.
