Original printed wrappers. = Written by the German zoologist and botanist Johann Friedrich Brandt (1802-1875), who worked in St. Petersburg, who also published on whales, and coauthored (with Ratzeburg) the "Medizinische Zoologie". This is the description of a freshwater sponge. A bit torn and chipped at wrapper edges - with some repairs, otherwise a very good copy. Nissen ZBI, 549.
