Title: Les Terebratulidae du Dogger. Dans le Maconnais, le Mont d'Or Lyonnais et le Jura méridional. Etude systématique et biostratigraphique et rapports avec la paléoécologie.
Description: Lyon, Laboratoires de Géologie de la Faculté des Sciences de Lyon, 1970. Three volumes in two (text and atlas). Large 8vo (27.0 x 20.0 cm). 690 pp.; numerous text illustrations, tables and maps, 294 plates (several larger, folded). Uniform comtemporary half cloth over marbled boards. Red morocco label with gilt title on both spines. = An excellent, profusely illustrated work, mostly based on well-preserved material and including several new species. Signed by the author (dedication to the French geologist and palaeontologist Jeannine [R.] Geyssant). Her name is clipped in the first text part, erased in the atlas, but present on the title of the second text part. In an old French tradition, plate numbering is complicated. Apart from those numbered 1-211, it includes plates 2B-6B, 8B, 14B-D, 15B-C, 16B-E, 18B, 20-21B-C, 22B, 23B-C, 24B, 25B-C, 26B, 28-29B, 31-32B, 34-36B, 38B, 49B, 52-54B, 57B, 59-61B, 63B, 66-67B, 69-73B, 75B, 77-78B, 85-87B, 112B, 116B, 118B, 121-126B, 131B, 149B, 173-177B, 181B, 184B, 187-188B, 191-193B (each on a single leaf, however), 206-208B. If a B-number is present, the first plate is given the additional letter A. Usually found in ring binders, but this set is neatly bound. Both text volumes are bound together, without the wrappers to the second part. The plate volume -published separately - is bound separately. A very good copy.
