Contemporary blind-tooled cloth; spine with gilt line and red morocco label with gilt title. Speckled edges. = Rare early monograph on the maize or corn-plant, depicted on one plate. The others are on agricultural instruments. Maize originates from Mexico, which makes the German name "türkischen Wei[t]zen" quite peculiar, apparently maize reached Germany by a climatologically determined detour through Turkey. Old armorial library stamp on title. Pritzel, 1381.
