Front board with large, gilt vignette. Yellow endpapers. = A well-illustrated mineralogical monograph. Most of the 533 text illustrations are figured twice; with the descriptive text, and again in a long table, on 33 full-page "plates", occupying pp. 461-525. Pictorial bookplate "He serves all who dares to be true" of Marie Russell, dated 1905 mounted on the front pastedown. Some chipping to spine ends and hinges (this cover is prone to chipping, but this copy is much less affected than usual); some mild foxing, but mostly clean and in all a very good copy. Rare outside the US.
