Also useful in adjacent countries and regions. Each volume has a unique, typed new index of bird species. Some pencil notes in the text. Volume I in transparent sleeve; and with armorial bookplate of E. Lort-Phillips "Animo et Fide", and old inscription ("Christmas 1937") to the British botanist Louisa [Jane Forbes Gunnis] Lort-Phillips (d. 1946) on the front free endpaper recto. Her husband named two bird species after her. Volumes 1 and 2 are much rarer than the others.
