Written by the notable Scottish historian, Sir Archibald Alison, the 'History of Europe from the commencement of the French revolution to the restoration of the Bourbons' is an expansive, multi-volume work that was viewed as the first 'scholarly English-language study of the French Revolution&apos. Appearing in ten volumes between 1833 and 1844, this set remained popular, and was reprinted a number of times, and translated into numerous foreign languages. In full calf leather bindings with gilt embellishment to the spines and boards. Externally, generally smart, lightly rubbed in places. There is some minor loss to the leather. There is some minor bumping to the tops and tails of the spines on some volumes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with some scattered light spotting. Very Good .
