Description: London, John Mason, 1841. Leather. This book contains monthly issues of the religious periodical "The Cottager's Friend, and Guide of the Young". Leather spine and corners with gilt, tooled detailing to spine and marble, paper covered boards. Although the issue in this volume run from February 1839 to December 1842, not all issues in between these dates are present. The pagination of the issues does not indicate the amount of pages present, as the pages are not numbered from page one onwards, instead each issue, begins on different page numbers. These pages do not follow in order. These periodicals contain poetry, sermons, memoirs and other articles. In a half straight-grained morocco binding with marbled boards. There is some wear to the extremities, including bumping and scuffing to the leather corners and spine. The marble, paper boards have worn down. The binding is tight and firm, with both covers and all internal pages securely attached. Internally, there are handling marks and staining throughout.
