Description: London, Seeley, Burnside and Seeley, 1843. Leather. A rather scarce religious novel concerning two young women, Edith and the young Baroness de Walton. Bound in half leather with gilt lettering. Bound by R. Eastwell, Belfast, with the bookbinder's label to the front pastedown. Publisher's note to the rear, "The story of Old Humphrey in Chapter xx, is printed in a Tract, under the title of 'A Short Story for Rich and Poor.' Price 3d.£ This work remains anonymous. In a half calf binding. There is some wear to the extremities, including some rubbing and edge wear with some loss to the spine. The spine leather is split in two and coming away. The front board is detached and the rear hinge is cracked. The text binding is tight and firm. Internally the pages have slight browning and scattered foxing becoming prominent to the first and last few pages. There is a section missing to the top of the front blank. There are two small marginal pieces missing from page 27 that do not affect the text. There are repairs to closed tears on page 161/2 that do not affect the text. There are tidemarks to the top of the first two leaves. Overall the condition is good only. A scarce work in need of care and attention. Good Only . Ill.: None. Good Only .
