Description: London, Jn. Williams, 1828-68. Leather. A handwritten ledger for a Regency through to Victorian business. With later additions in another hand by a Miss M. Devenish. Written in two columns, containing addresses of customers (or suppliers) and amounts paid. Including date headings to each entry. Bookplate of JN. Williams, Stationer and Patenter of Improved Account Books to front pastedown. Unfortunately, the business is unclear as the writing has faded in places. In a reverse calf binding. Externally, worn, with some rubbing and wear to the extremities. Splitting to the leather in a couple of places. Hinges are very tender. Internally, binding strained in places, with a few pages to the rear detached due to tender joint. Pages are bright, and quite clean, with just a few instances of foxing. Fair . Ill.: None. Fair .
