Description: London, J Johnson, 1804. Leather. A scarce biographical text exploring the life and writings of William Cowper. Featuring two engraved plates by W. Blake, firstly depicting a view of St Edmund's Chapel in the Church of East Dereham, which contains the grave of William Cowper, and secondly a sketch of the monument erected in the church of East Dereham in Norfolk in memory of Copper. Contains various correspondence, mainly between Cooper and Reverend John Newton. In a half calf binding with marbled boards and gilt lettering to the spine. Externally, a trifle rubbed with wear to the the boards and extremities. Spine is worn and chipped, and front hinge is slightly strained. Internally, firmly bound, pages are intermittently clean with the occasional instances of spotting and handling marks. Good Only . Ill.: None. Good Only .
