Illustrated throughout from drawings by Hugh Thomson, the notable Irish Illustrator best known for his pen-and-ink illustrations of works by authors such as Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, and J. M. Barrie. A new edition of this work. In a full pictorial cloth binding with gilt stamping to front board and spine. Externally, very smart with light rubbing to head and tail of spine. Spine sunned. Prior owner's inscription to recto of front endpaper, offset to front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot. Spotting to the first few pages.
