It follows a French botanist who has recently graduated being sent to Greece by the National Museum of Natural History to study flora. In search of rare plants he meets two English women and befriends them. All three are abducted by a band of brigands led by the king of the mountains, Hadgi-Stavros. In a full calf prize binding. Externally, very smart with minor bumping to the extremities. A small amount of light rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Prize bookplate to front pastedown for the Penistone Grammar School.
