 - The Writ of Possession and Fieri Facias

Title: The Writ of Possession and Fieri Facias
Description: London, The High Court of Justice, c1950. Loose Pages, Articles. Original performae writs in the name of George VI from the library of David Stather. Including five Performae Writs from the Writ of Possession and Fieri Facias in the name of George VI as well as examples of Writ Possession only (not including execution on goods), a proforma Judgement in default of Appearance or Defence and a proforma county court 'Particulars of Claim' for breach of a hire-purchase agreement. Some very scarce copies, not found in commerce. From the library of David Stather, a remarkable private collection put together over a lifetime reflective of Stather's wide interest in history and law, comprising a large collection of early books, pamphlets and manuscripts with the majority dating from the 17th and 18th centuries.Inserted is a typed note from Staher dated 2019: 'These performae writs in the name of George VI are probable museum pieces and I doubt if any other example could now be found anywhere. I acquired them in my first job in a solicitor's office in 1958 and kept them as a curiosity as they were by then obsolete, George VI having died six years earlier in 1952. The format remained the same for many years under his successor, Elizabeth II, the only difference being the substitution of the words "Head of The Commonwealth" in place of the reference to "British Dominions beyond the Seas"&apos. unbound as issued. Pages generally bright and clean with only odd light spotting to odd leaf. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: None. Very Good Indeed .
