It was led by James Scott, the 1st Duke of Monmouth, as he and a group of dissident Protestants greatly opposed James due to his Catholic beliefs.Booth was accused of participating in the Rebellion, though he was acquitted by Judge Jeffreys. In a half calf binding with cloth to the boards. Externally, smart. A few light marks and rubbing to the leather. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are age-toned and generally clean with some scattered spots and handling marks. Very small scorch mark to leaves A1-C2, not affecting text. Neat repair to the margin of leaf G1.
