A very scarce work depicting contemporary engravings of Turnbridge Wells, Kent A very scarce work containing six black and white engravings of Turnbridge Wells, Kent. The work was published by Harwood, who produced illustrated booklets on several parts of Britain including Wales, the Channel islands, and various counties. Presented in an oblong landscape format, this volume is comprised of single sided engravings of Turnbridge Wells, including depictions of Calverley Hotel and Bayham Abbey. Undated. Dated c1848 from the engraving of Calverley Hotel. Only two of the engravings are dated in this volume, the earliest 1841, and latest is 1848. In the publisher's original cloth binding with paper covers. Externally, sound. The covers are rather grubby, with some wear towards the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little dirty throughout, and there is evidence that something has been spilt in the book, as there is a waterline on each page. Good . Ill.: John Harwood; Frederick Hardwood. Good .
