Paris edition, letters are both in French and English. With a bookplate tipped in presentation from Mrs Cobden inscribed 'In Remembrance of Richard Cobden this book is presented by Mrs Cobden to his beloved and esteemed friend Henru Richards,' dated 1865. Prefatory note signed by Victor Frond. Illustrated with a beautiful engraved title page and stunning frontispiece portrait of Cobden. Letters are presented in facsimile of the originals, printed in text. Collated, complete. Richard Cobden was an English Radical and Liberal politician known for his associations with the Anti-Corn Law League and the Cobden-Chevalier Treaty. In the original publisher's quarter morocco binding over cloth covered boards, dubleur endpapers. Externally a trifle rubbed with shelf wear, minor chipping and loss to head and tail of spine, bumped to extremities of boards with faint damp marks to boards. Internally. firmly bound.
