The publication offers a very detailed insight into the British Army. July 1871 has the original front wrap bound in, and sixteen pages of adverts to the rear, lacking the rear wrap. April 1883 and April 1898 are not bound with the original wraps or title pages. Extensive index to each volume. Rebound in a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Spines are a little faded. Light rubbing to the cloth. Some minor marks to the boards. Cloth reinforcements to the hinges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with some spots. Wear to the original front wrap of 1871, with some loss and edge wear, and a cloth repair to the gutter; the final leaf of adverts is a little worn as well.
