Some of the illustrations throughout the text are hand coloured and there are full page colour plates and colour comic strips.  In the publisher's original pictorial boards. Externally, smart. Some bumping to the extremities and marks to the boards and some bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A previous owner inscription to the reverse of the front free endpaper dated 1939.
