Leaf M restored to fore edge.Contemporary inscriptions to front and rear blanks from the children of the Longman family, with the inscription 'Ann Longman her book gift by Ann Read January 6th 1799' to verso of title page.First published in 1751, this popular work saw numerous editions throughout the second half of the eighteenth century. Rebound in full cloth, with endpapers renewed. Remnants of original floral boards laid down. Contemporary inscriptions to front and rear blanks, with further inscription to verso of title page.
